ABOUT THE SSC: The Sport & Social Club is Sudbury's best provider of co-ed and single sex sports leagues. Our programs run year round, indoor and outdoor, and include basketball, beach and court volleyball, dodgeball, curling, football, floor hockey, ice hockey, soccer, softball, tennis, ultimate frisbee, bowling, inner-tube water polo, multi-sport programs, sports programs for singles, fitness classes and Urban Adventures.

All regions offer our members the ability to register for sports as a team or as an individual, unparalleled customer service including member benefits, and the best variety of team sports and activities in Sudbury.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Our event coordinators are an essential ingredient to the success of our leagues. They are the eyes and ears for what is going on in our venues, and are a communication tool for what the members are experiencing on a nightly basis. They maintain positive relationships with our members and the facility supervisors/custodians. We are currently looking for quality, responsible, outgoing event coordinators to act as league ambassadors for our participants. Responsibilities/times/locations all vary depending on your availability.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Meet at the venue location prior to game times to meet with the facility custodian and set up the equipment for that particular sport. Manage the venue throughout the course of the night to ensure that our members enter & exit the building at the appropriate times & through the appropriate doors. Ensure that all games start & end at the correct times. Monitor all games to ensure a consistent flow and to encourage fair play. All of our leagues are self-officiated, so you will not be asked to referee, but we do ask that all event coordinators have a firm grasp of our league rules so that they can act as disciplinarians and mediators when necessary. Clean up the facility and pack up all equipment at the end of the final game. Report back to the office the morning after your shift with a detailed description on how each night went.

HOURS: Our leagues run Monday to Friday from roughly 5:45 until 11:00pm (shifts will vary based on game times at a given venue). The occasional Saturday and/or Sunday may also be available to those interested in our special events and Sunday leagues. Hours will vary depending on your availability, but preferences will be given to those who are committed to working consistent shifts on multiple evenings.

COMPENSATION: All of our event coordinators will earn $14/hour. We also offer our event coordinators the opportunity to participate in all of our tournaments at no charge.  Please note that to be eligible to play in a tournament for free you must have a regular shift in the current season.
