JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the President of Sport & Social Group, this leadership role will be responsible for providing strategic input to further our growth strategy, and the establishment of processes and systems to ensure that the team is well positioned to support this growth. We are seeking a candidate that is self-motivated and proactive with high level of integrity.  Someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to get the job done while assisting the team with managing priorities and achieving the highest degree of efficiency. This individual must be able to adapt quickly to and manage changing priorities, have a keen attention to detail and constantly seeking process improvements and scalability.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Managing and supporting Finance Associates and HR Supervisor and their respective teams

  • Managing all aspects of finance team (including budgeting and forecasting, year end, month end reporting, processing payroll,  accounts payable & receivable, tax management, internal controls & processes)

  • Ensuring the timely delivery of financial reports to fit the needs of each business unit

  • Assisting with financial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, and overseeing the integration of finance and HR functions for acquired entities

  • Assisting in development of growth strategy with the leadership team

  • Managing relationships with third party partners (legal, insurance, HR advisors)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have CPA or CA Designation or equivalent

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Director of Finance or comparable position

  • Minimum 8-10 years of related experience in Accounting

  • Must be proficient with Excel and/or Google Sheets and with Quickbooks

  • Must have experience managing multiple teams

  • Must have experience in an entrepreneurial business background

  • Must be prepared to jump in and assist with the day to day tasks/projects as needed

  • Process-oriented with strong leadership and organizational skills and strong attention to detail

  • Experienced in financial reporting and analytical tools

  • Experience working with Tableau is an asset

  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions (Canada and US) is an asset.

EXPECTED HOURS

  • Office hours are 9:00am-5:00pm Monday to Friday

COMPENSATION

  • Salary range is expected to be between $90,000 to $140,000

  • 3 weeks vacation during the first year, with 4 weeks thereafter

  • Eligible for full benefits after 3 months
